HockeyShop.dk is Denmark’s premier destination for ice hockey and roller hockey gear, offering an extensive selection of equipment for players of all levels.
The Challenge
HockeyShop.dk faced challenges with:
- Managing a vast array of product variations efficiently.
- Assisting customers in selecting the most suitable product options.
- Handling requests for product variations not readily available.
Concept & Creative Direction
To address these challenges, I developed a custom WordPress plugin featuring:

Variation Recommendation Widget: This interactive tool engages customers with targeted questions to understand their specific needs. Based on their responses, it automatically recommends and selects the most appropriate product variations, simplifying the decision-making process. The widget’s interface was built using Alpine.js, ensuring a lightweight and responsive user experience.

Multilingual Support with WPML: The plugin was designed to be fully compatible with WPML, enabling seamless multilingual support. This ensures that customers can interact with the variation recommendation widget in their preferred language, enhancing accessibility and user satisfaction.
